APM Professional is awarded by the Association for Project Management (APM), the UK professional project management association. The syllabus is based on the 5th edition of the APM Body of Knowledge.

PMI

PMBOK® provides the fundamentals of project management, and is applicable to a wide range of projects.


PMBOK® describes work in terms of inputs, tools, techniques and outputs.  The Guide includes 44 processes and 9 knowledge areas, including project:


  • Integration management

  • Scope management

  • Time management

  • Cost management

  • Quality management

  • Human resource management

  • Communications management

  • Risk management

  • Procurement management.

  • Project Management Professional - a four hour examination composed of 200 multiple choice questions.
PRINCE2®

PRINCE2® (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) was developed by the UK government to manage its projects.

PRINCE2 is the most successful project management method in the world – it has become a de facto standard in both the private and public sectors.

PRINCE2 provides common processes, management products roles and language for use throughout all an organisation's projects.

Examinations

  • Foundation - a one hour multiple-choice closed-book examination with 75 questions (5 of which are trial questions: 35 to pass)
  • Practitioner - a two and half hour multiple-choice open-book (PRINCE2 Manual only) examination with a total of
    108 marks available (59 marks, 55% to pass).
  • Re registration - a one hour multiple-choice open-book (PRINCE2 Manual only) examination with a total of 36 marks available (20 marks, 55% to pass)
